You are cordially invited and strongly encouraged to attend this Intensive Prep Session if you preparing to apply to a Galvanize Web Development Immersive.
When: Saturday, January 13th
10 am to 2 pm
Please bring your own lunch, breakfast snacks will be provided.

Taught by Lead Instructor, Teddi Maull, this one-day intensive class in Javascript is for applicants who have already begun learning Javascript. If you're most of the way through or have completed online tutorials with CodeAcademy, FreeCodeCraft or Team Treehouse, this prep class will help solidify some of those foundational skills and give you more hands-on experience!
You must do the following Prerequisite Work for the Saturday code event:
In the book Javascript for Kids:

  • Read chapters 1 and 2 (What is Javascript, Data Types, and Variables)
  • Read chapter 3 pages 40-44 (Arrays)
    Topics for the Day
    Working with Strings
    If and If…Else Statements
    For loops
    Working with Arrays
    Writing a function
    What to Bring:
    Bring your computer, charge cord, an awesome can-do attitude, and be prepared to have fun writing and sharing code!
