Galvanize is committed to transparency and accuracy in reporting, and adheres to The Galvanize Standard in calculating our placement statistics. With the exception of graduates who do not have authorization to work in the United States, return to an accredited education program, are called into active military duty, are incarcerated, or pass away, all Galvanize graduates are counted in our placement statistics. We feel this gives our prospective students, current students, alumni, and employers the most accurate view into the employment statistics of our graduating classes, by product, and year-over-year.

The process by which we collect employment data starts with the student/graduate, and we make every effort to have the individual confirm - on record - the details of their employment, including salary, location, and role type (part-time, full-time, contract, or permanent). For those records for which we were not able to obtain the digital confirmation from the student/graduate, we use a third party source for verification - including LinkedIn and confirmation from the employer. To calculate the average salaries, only data that has been directly confirmed by the student/graduate went into this calculation.
In compliance with the State of California’s Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, the following roles are considered “gainfully employed” and included in the numerator of “Graduates Employed within 6 Months:”
- Part-Time employment, provided the role requires at least 20 hours per week, and no more than 29 hours per week.
- Full-Time employment, defined as a role requiring equal to or greater than 30 hours per week.
- Contract employment, provided the contract last at least 5 weeks in duration. This includes internships that fit that duration requirement.
- Permanent/Regular employment, with no end-date explicit in the offer letter or employment contract.
All employment data - by Galvanize product and by region/campus - was verified by an independent third-party auditor.
Graduates Available for Employment
Is defined as the number of graduates minus the number of graduates unavailable for employment. Graduates are considered unavailable for employment if after graduation they die, become incarcerated, are called to active military duty, are international students who leave the United States or do not have a visa allowing employment in the United States, or are continuing their education in an accredited or bureau-approved postsecondary institution.
Graduates Hired within 6 Months
Is defined as graduates who report that they are gainfully employed (either full-time which over 32 hours a week or part-time which is 32 hours or under a week) within six months of graduation in a position for which the skills obtained through the education and training provided by the institution are required or provided a significant advantage to the graduate in obtaining the position.
This number is calculated by dividing the total number of immersive program graduates from 2014 - 2017 who are employed in the field, by the number of graduates available for employment. Please note the numbers above are an aggregate of all locations: Austin, Boulder, Denver, New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle.
