Kevin is the Director of Data Scientist at Umbel and a recovering statistical physicist with an interest in big data analytics. He was once hired as a “Salad Engineer” because he can clap with one hand and has destroyed three microwaves while sciencing; each time after saying: “what could possibly go wrong?” Prior to his role as Director of Data Science Services at Umbel, Kevin put his his deep knowledge of mathematics and statistics to work at Ravel and at Dachis Group, and co-founded Embrace — a Tech-Stars incubated ecommerce analytics company.
A native of Austin, Drew Rice attended college at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating with a dual degree in C.S. and Political Science in 2016, Drew returned to Austin to attend the Galvanize data science program. Currently, he works in Austin as a Data Scientist with Capson Physicians Insurance Company. In his spare time, Drew writes and records electronic music and rock and roll. He enjoys playing guitar, bass, drums and keys.
Patrick is a Senior Commercial Data Strategist with Amherst InsightLabs overseeing development of commercial real estate initiatives in the financial services sector. Previously Patrick was COO of Commercial Texas, a local commercial brokerage, which was acquired in 2014 by Avison Young. Patrick has a MS in Technology Commercialization from McCombs School of Business at UT Austin, a MA in Experimental Psychology at Columbia University and a BA and BS in Philosophy and Psychology respectively from Texas Christian University.
