What is “Deep Learning”? What will be the next big development or research area in AI? How can AI computing models change our daily lives?

AI is broadly regarded as the next major technology change in IT. At the core of today’s new style of computing, AI based tools like Microsoft Cortana, Siri, and Google Now rely on Deep Learning for their super-human accuracy. Past computing paradigm changes such as the advent of low cost Linux servers or cloud computing often took years to become mainstream. What’s different today is the speed of adoption. With the availability and rapid adoption of open-source AI frameworks like Caffe and TensorFlow, and with great advances in computational performance for these frameworks enabled by Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), Deep Learning has quickly established itself as a new computing model and is poised to change everything from how we drive our car to how we interact with our home.

Meaghan will provide an overview of SXSW’s Intelligent Future Track which embodies the realm of unfolding possibilities where intelligence is embedded in every aspect of life. She will explain how technology will empower and enable new possibilities like smart transportation and cities, augmented reality and intelligent devices.

Come learn about Deep Learning, and how GPU-powered AI techniques are changing how we live, work, shop, and more.
