Outside of Silicon Valley, New York City is the largest tech ecosystem in the country. Technology is among the fastest growing and highest paying sectors in New York City today, representing 291,000 jobs and $30 billion in wages annually. Today, we are thrilled to announce Galvanize’s ninth urban campus in Soho, NYC, opening in 2017.
Located at 315 Hudson Street in New York’s Soho district, the 55,000 square foot campus will serve as the future home of Galvanize’s unique learning community for technology, providing education, workspace, and networking for students, startups, and established companies. Galvanize is working to become licensed by the Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision in New York, and intends to offer classes and workshops once approved.
Between now and the campus’s grand opening in 2017, Galvanize will be operating out of a 6,000 square foot pop up space also located on the ground floor of 303 Spring Street (or 315 Hudson Street entrance) where we will host meetups and events, and offer workspace to startups and established companies.
In addition to meeting the needs of the New York City startup and tech sectors, the New York City campus will allow Galvanize to foster new corporate partnerships as well as expand existing successful ones. To that end, the Galvanize collaboration with IBM, which began in 2014 in Galvanize’s San Francisco location, will continue in New York with a focus on helping fuel cloud development and skills in fields such as data science within the financial tech sector and other industries.
